Happy Writers was created by Brandi in 2023 to provide handwriting tutoring and support to local children. Handwriting tutoring provides children with the skills they need to write comfortably, confidently and legibly. Happy Writers session utilize evidence-based, multi-sensory, explicit instruction for best outcomes.
We work on skills such as:
Letter formation
Letter and number recognition
Pencil grasp
Letter sizing and spacing
Line awareness
Writing speed and fluency
Fine motor coordination
Visual-motor skills
Hand strength and endurance
Early writing skills
Handwriting confidence
Copying skills
Step 1: Comprehensive Handwriting Assessment
The first session will begin with a comprehensive handwriting assessment. During this time, we will learn about your child’s background, educational history, strengths, and areas of concern. You will receive a copy of the results from this assessment.
Step 2: Develop a Tutoring Plan
Together, we will develop an individualized plan to support your child’s areas of need while building upon their unique strengths and personal goals.
Step 3: Time for Progress!!!
Sessions will focus on multi-sensory, evidence-based, and explicit instruction. Please note, travel fees might apply. We typically will meet one time a week for 45 minutes, in your home or a local library. Please note, travel fees might apply.
