What is a superbill?
Bright Foundations Pediatric Therapy is a private-pay occupational therapy practice and does not participate with health insurance plans.
However, some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may allow families to receive reimbursement for a portion of the cost of occupational therapy services.
If requested in advance, Bright Foundations can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that includes information about the services your child received and the amount you paid. You can submit the superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement.
Please contact your insurance provider directly to determine whether your plan provides out-of-network occupational therapy benefits, what your coverage includes, and whether a referral or other documentation is required.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed and is determined by your individual insurance plan.
How do I know if my child needs handwriting tutoring or occupational therapy services?
Bright Foundations Pediatric Therapy is the sister company of Happy Writers, Handwriting Tutoring for Kids.
While there is some overlap between handwriting tutoring and occupational therapy, it is important to know the difference to identify which your child would most benefit from.
Occupational therapy services are a broad, individualized service which can help with functional impairments associated with any medical diagnoses your child might have (autism, ADHD, developmental delay, etc.) Occupational therapists look at the whole child. Sessions will focus on any underlying skills that might be affecting a child’s meaningful occupations, including handwriting. Occupational therapy goals for each child would look different, too.
For handwriting tutoring, Happy Writers specifically focuses on handwriting development and instruction. This can include prewriting, handwriting, and cursive skills. The goal of handwriting tutoring is to help children improve their handwriting legibility, efficiency, and confidence through explicit, multisensory, and individualized instruction.
